Titration automats Model: div. Metrohm titrinos + Schott titroline
Unit and Room: Chemie II, Zintl-lab
Responsible: S. Zuelsdorf
Volumetric analysis
Further information:

Short Description:

Automatic volumetric/titration analysis of liquid samples with potentiometric end point determination through ion-selective electrodes

Picture of the Equipment

Titration automat

Available Experiments/Techniques:

acid-base titration (e.g. total acid in juices and wine, carbonate for water hardness)
precipitation titration (e.g. chloride with Ag+)
complexometric titration (e.g. Ca and Mg in water, mineral water, milk with EDTA)
all with potentiometric end point determination through ion-selective electrodes

Special Equipment:

- normal pH-electrodes;
- pH-solvotrode for acid-base titration in non-aqueous environment;
- metal ion-selective electrodes for: Ag, Ca/Mg, Cu

Measurements on the equipment are currently done by: Students after introduction

Recent Publications, where this instrument was
important (citation):

Typical problems that may be solved with this instrument: rapid, inexpensive and simple concentration determinations of various ionic species in the %- to upper ppm range
