Picture of the Equipment

TGA-DSC

Available Experiments/Techniques:

Simultaneous Thermal Analysis of two or more techniques to a single sample at the same time.

Differential Scanning Calorimetry DSC:
Measurement of difference in energy input into a substance and a reference material as function of temperature, while the substance and the reference material are subjected to a controlled temperature program. (ICTA, ASTM E 473-85)

Thermgravimetric Analysis TGA:
A technique in which the mass of a substance is measured as a function of temperature or time while the substance is subjected to a controlled temperature program. (ICTA, ASTM E 914-83)

Special Equipment:

DTA with temperature RT – 1600 °C
DSC with temperature -170 – 530 °C

Measurements on the equipment are currently done by: Students after extensive training
